The Signal — Morning Briefing
By Mantis Money
MARKET SNAPSHOT
BTC is holding at $78,930, up 0.4% in the last 24 hours. ETH is essentially flat at $2,476, down a tenth of a percent. Total market cap sits at $2.67 trillion. The Fear and Greed Index is reading 62 — Greed territory, though nothing alarming. Markets are treading water for now.
DEFI PULSE
The standout this morning is the BSW/USAD pool on Uniswap v4 (Base), which clocked $281.7M in 24-hour volume against just $5.8M in TVL. That's an eyebrow-raising volume-to-TVL ratio, and only 34% of transactions were buys — something worth watching closely.
Stablecoin routing is doing heavy lifting across the board. The USDT/USDS pool on Uniswap v4 Ethereum pushed $97.6M in volume, and Fluid's USDC/USDT pair on Ethereum added another $72.5M. Traders are clearly moving between stable assets at scale, which often signals positioning ahead of a directional move.
The WETH/USDC pair on Uniswap v3 Base led all ETH pools with $82.1M volume and 12,492 transactions — 65% of those were buys. cbBTC is also seeing solid rotation, with two Base pools (Aerodrome and PancakeSwap v3) combining for over $110M in volume and modest positive price action.
TOKEN MOVEMENTS
HYPE +2.8% — The only meaningful gainer in the top 10 today. Hyperliquid is also trending on CoinGecko, which suggests fresh retail interest layering on top of existing momentum. Worth watching whether this extends.
TRX -1.8% — Tron is the biggest loser in the top 10 over 24 hours. No specific catalyst visible; likely just profit-taking or rotation out of the position.
BNB -0.7% — Quietly drifting lower alongside SOL. Both sitting near short-term support levels. No obvious news driver.
ARB trending — Arbitrum is picking up attention on CoinGecko despite price not screaming. The USDC/WETH pool on Arbitrum processed 38,861 transactions in 24 hours — the highest transaction count in the DeFi data today — suggesting underlying network activity is live even if price hasn't responded yet.
RAM (Ramses) trending — The Arbitrum-native DEX is surfacing on CoinGecko's trending list. Low market cap, thin liquidity — the kind of name that moves fast in either direction once it gets traction.
HEADLINE EVENT
Hyperliquid continues to be the name retail traders keep coming back to. HYPE is up 2.8% today, trending on CoinGecko, and the broader Hyperliquid ecosystem is pulling attention in a market that's otherwise fairly quiet. Whether this is the start of a fresh leg or just noise in a flat market is the question worth asking. The on-chain data has an answer — see below.
THE ALPHA
Today's BSW/USAD pool on Uniswap v4 Base printed $281.7M in volume against $5.8M TVL — a ratio that doesn't happen by accident.
