Mealarkey
Today on the website we have something new on offer: Mealarkey, an array of new writing on or about or connected to food. There are stories. There are poems. There are recipes.
Donald Ryan, writer [and author of Don Bronco’s (Working Title) Shell], librarian, good cook, has put together a full course meal of fine literature for the first round of Mealarkey, our new section devoted to stories of food, two elements in common across time and culture, nourishing not just our bodies but our souls, connecting us, sustaining us, amusing us. Food and stories—they go together like bread and butter, like whatever your favorite food combination is. (Mine is Brie and anything.) Chef Ryan has selected items from Craig Rodgers, Jon Fain, Kate McIntyre, Joey Hedger, Sandra Marchetti, and Jeff Hermann. Each literary offering is accompanied by a recipe, which we invite you to partake in. If you try out a recipe for yourself, we would be delighted if you shared your experience, and your photos, with us. You can email malarkeybooks@gmail.com. Even better, hit us up on socials:

Please join us for this sumptuous feast, this celebration of literature, of food, of living. There is no wait. No dress code. No check. Dig in!
The Mealarkey menu will be seasonal. Stay posted for future offerings and opportunities.
