Project updates, Terminal R2Shift Happens...
Happy Friday!
Some smaller updates today (bigger ones coming soon).
Project Updates
If you took part in the group buy for either ePBT Camo or KAM Command, you'll be happy to hear that both sets have finished production and are on their way to vendors. Shipping by sea is slow though, so it might be another 4-10 weeks (I know...) before they get there.
GMK Diner is produced as well, and if all goes to plan should ship to vendors some time in April.
Terminal R2
We hit a small snag that set us back a couple of weeks. Guesstimating Terminal will arrive at vendors by early April?
Something I haven't mentioned before: Terminal (and most of my future projects) is being produced by the lovely folks over at KBM. They're relatively new to the space, but I've been working with them over the past couple of months and their dyesub (even reversed) is by far the best I've ever seen. The (PBT) caps will be 1.7mm thick and sound amazing.
Banana Deskmat R2
Order has been put in, in stores in a couple of weeks.
Shift Happens
My friend Marcin spent the past couple of years writing a thorough history of the keyboard. If that's something you're interested in (I... assume so since you're reading this newsletter?), go check out the Kickstarter. Already passed 400% funding, and it runs for another 4 days.
It's a bundle of 3 books, all filled with the most amazing photos of keyboards throughout history. The writing is witty and clever, I just can't say enough positive things about it.
On top of that, I'm proud to say I got to design an artisan for the top tier of the Kickstarter campaign. It features 2 tops (one copper one steel) you can place on the bottom with magnets. Suuuuuuuper nifty stuff, produced by my friends at Protozoa.
PBS Classic
If you're familiar with the MT3 profile, you might know its creator matt3o. He's been in the keyboard community since forever, and besides a new profile called MTNU, he recently also announced another new profile: PBS (Penguin Belly Slide).
MV Classic is still happening, but I'll also be running an adaptation of the design on PBS. It will be one of the first sets on the profile to hit the market ~late this year, and is also produced by KBM (see Terminal R2).
Event Horizon
3rd prototype (Founder's Edition, full brass) should be in my hands soon. Once it arrives, we'll have a much clearer idea of what the timeline for the group buy and in-stock units look like.
Lots of things happening, as usual. 2022 was a but of a dud because of production issues, but 2023 is ramping up to be a good one!
