Water, again! And a question.
The laundry line rainmaker is still working! Unfortunately, Buttondown won’t let me attach my 19-second .mov video of my dog towels summoning the gods and goddesses of rain, so below is a picture. Perhaps if I hung out something more valuable, the rain will be more than just “spittin’”…what do you think? Wouldn’t it be great to have lightning to jazz up the soil? If you know how to summon lightning, please share! Here’s a link I just found explaining that: https://wxguys.ssec.wisc.edu/2018/07/09/lightning/
Someone asked me to expound on the creation of Mountain Air. More specifically, it was about getting a runway for airplanes up there. The founders wept to their buddies in the NC General Assembly, wringing their hands in despair, that Yancey County didn’t have an emergency landing strip. Boo-hoo, right? So they got money for one, but built it on top of a ridge in their gated community, reached by several miles of scenic driving - not near any of the fire departments or the Sheriff’s office.
There’s at least one helicopter pad down here among the common folk, perhaps more…but I don’t get around like I used to, so am not sure.
Question for you tech-savvy folk: Does merely checking emails on my iPhone make my bill go up? Does even just having the email icon on there and getting notifications of emails costing me? I went to the US Cellular office to see how I could bring my monthly bill down, and I was more confused when I left than I was when I walked in. The young person at the desk seemed to be saying that if all I did was talk and text, I’d have the lowest phone bill possible. I don’t use most of the features on it; had them remove some of the icons last year. I’ve even been thinking about going back to a landline, since realizing that my life revolves around electronics these days… I spent well over half my life without a cell phone, and now automatically look/reach for, and check it many times a day. Like an addict.

(Buttondown told me when I hit ‘send’ that some people won’t see the picture because I didn’t use “alt text,” whatever that is. If you really want to see a picture of the washline in the rain, I’ll send it in an email, but I doubt it’s worth our effort.)
Thinking about going outside and getting grounded again. Take care!
