O Lost...and by me grieved...

I have lost my phone.

I last used it last night, apparently having just texted a phone number that I don’t recognize. Jim, my neighbor Mary, and I have looked all over the house - nothing. I have even looked in every drawer, under furniture, inside the pockets of things I’ve worn lately. Even looked in the fridge, freezer, and all the kitchen and bathroom cabinets, and every square inch in the house. Zip.

I know I was up late watching MidSomer Murders, then Jimmy Kimmel (guest host named Diego Luna, a Mexican actor/producer, who was as funny as Jimmy ever was), Stephen Colbert, and Seth Meyers. Usually my phone is near me - next to the sofa, on my office desk, or on the bookstand next to my bed. Charging cords at each of those places.

Both Jim and Mary tried texting and calling - no sounds happened. Mary had me try saying, “Hey, Siri” - but that didn’t work except triggering her Siri. I’ve never used Siri.

I’ve check the gazebo (which was heavily damaged in a storm last week), and the shed.

Mary was able to pull up on her phone using the texted phone number a picture of two 30-ish women hiking out west. I kinda think I’ve seen that picture before, but I don’t know who they are. Even if I did know who they are, it wouldn’t explain the missing phone. The whole thing is strange.

It’s cooled off outside, so I’ll check the gazebo for the 5th time…
