Correction to the Correction

For Yancey residents, really - regarding the Horton court case regarding the assault of Norman Rabek at the peaceful No Kings rally on June 14.

THIS IS FROM NORMAN:

Hey Lucy.

Since you've sent out the info about the Randy Horton court case, would you mind adding a bit of context to your mailing?  I've had people tell me they were coming to cheer me on or to boo Randy Horton, or to "Stand Up" to any MAGA folks that were there.  This is going to be a court case.  The judge doesn't put up with disturbances or disruptions, and I've seen judges charge people with contempt of court when they've been calling things out or talking trash about a defendant or witness.  Also, if people bring a phone into the courtroom and it goes off, or the judge sees them using it, they'll impound the phone and eject the owner.  It seems that some people see this as a rally rather than a court of law.  It would be best to make sure that anyone who intends to show up is aware of the seriousness of the proceeding, and that their actions can change the outcome of the trial.

Thanks, Norman
