Listen Here #9
Why hello there,
This week is brought to you by a long and refreshing weekend, in which much good food was eaten and friends were celebrated. Hooray! It’s also the tail end of all of the Love Songs I requested for my birthday… enjoy it!
<3 Lauren
P.S. Call for your favorite Broadway/Showtunes and Holiday/Winter songs, especially if they aren’t traditional Christmas songs 👀 share them!

Song/Artist: “Bipp” by SOPHIE
Loved by: Rose
Notes: Self-love
Song/Artist: “Sister 2 Sister” by Ibeyi; “Agua” by La Chica; “Love Myself” by Hailee Steinfeld
Loved by: Egross
Notes: Love songs to others, to water, and to self
Song/Artist: “Love is Good” by The Shivers
Genre: Pop
Feels like: Cheerfully morbid? Poetic, reflective, and hopeful.
Loved by: Madeline
Why I love this song: “Love is just the color in your eye / Love is the rope I hope to hang myself with when I die” I feel like this song is the soundtrack for The Fool tarot card.
Song/Artist: "You Can Call Me Al" by Paul Simon
Genre: whatever paul simon was doing on graceland
Feels like: want to punch the air
Loved by: Lauren :)
Why I love this song: Catchy as fuck, existential midlife crisis lyrics, background vocals by Ladysmith Black Mambazo??? this song has it all. And you know what? We ARE seeing angels in the architecture spinning in infinity. That’s love, I think.
Other context: This song was a needle drop in a tv show I just started watching (Rivals on Hulu, it's wildly raunchy and fun), and I was just so EXCITED to hear the starting phrase even though I've heard the song a bazillion times? Like seeing one of your best friends in the grocery store unexpectedly.
