a beach for dogs, a podcast for men
First off - if you’re in the SF Bay Area, come see me do an important presentation at SF SKETCHFEST as part of my show “Gentlemen’s Club!” Really hype to be bringing this show on the road for the first time.

lol hi.
First of all, I, my partner, our pets, and our apartment are all fine. We are living in a climate apocalypse and many of our friends and neighbors have lost things in the fires in LA. Fires continue to pop up and spread, but currently we are (relatively) unaffected by anything but air quality, as we’re in this sort of center zone of LA. We exist in a weird neighborhood about 40 minutes in two directions from the end of the world.

Last week when the fires got close, my partner, Maddox, and I left town and stayed in a hotel with our dog, Roxy, and cat, Jackie Daytona. It was weird, but it’s even weirder to be home. The highlight of the trip was taking Roxy to a dog beach. Have you ever been to a dog beach? Dogs are so many different sizes and it’s truly wonderful.
We also took an expensive trip to a craft store, existing as we are in a little venn diagram at the heart of lesbianism and gay masculinity that means we are vulnerable to both Joanne’s Fabrics and antiquing. They really got us with the rainbow-adorned decorative storage boxes. They were on sale!
At the day job, we just announced a new show — Ask Hank Anything — and you can see ya boy (me) in a behind the scenes video that Hank just posted on vlogbrothers. I was on set for this whole shoot and it was fantastic (and warm).
I’ve been moonlighting as well as a comedy show producer, and I’m very lucky to be working with some of my favorite comedians in the world, many of whom do funny stuff on the Dropout network.

Finally, in making things news - we have finally launched the masculinity podcast I’ve been working on for over a year! NOT REAL MEN is now available wherever you get your podcasts. We’re posting every Wednesday, so give us a subscription of this is of interest! (content warning: lots of adult themes)
love you friends. I hope you’re doing ok! feel free to tell me if you’ve ever been to a dog beach.
xoxo
