THANK YOU to my neighbor Kate and all of the wonderful ladies in her Beacon book club, who read Ordinary Devotion and invited me to chat with them! I was incredibly moved that these smart, sharp women engaged so deeply with Elinor and Liz—and me!

THANK YOU to all of you who are still reading. This Thursday, July 9, I’ll be at Norma’s in Wappingers Falls for the latest installment of this genius series:
I own a few works by Theresa Gooby; her art is surreal, lush, magical, razor sharp, funny, and weird in the best way. This will be a super fun event, so come on over to Norma’s if you can!
I’ll also be at Blue Heron Books in High Falls, NY on August 7, where I’ll be in conversation with novelist/poet/memoirist/queen Elizabeth Cunningham, discussing craft and our shared passion for, and interest in, women in history and fiction.
Finally, this weekend I visited the teeny town of Hobart, NY with my dear pal Mary. Hobart bills itself as “The Book Village of the Catskills” and has EIGHT bookstores. I picked up two very intriguing novels that look to be right in my wheelhouse: Hester by Laurie Albanese and Enlightenment by Sarah Perry (both purchased at Blenheim Hill Books, which I think was my favorite shop of the bunch).
