Independent Bookstore Day, and a reading rec!
Hi friends,
This Saturday is Independent Bookstore Day! Lots of shops will be having special events, giveaways, speakers, etc. Beacon’s own Stanza Books will be featuring local writers reading from their latest works all afternoon—including yours truly at 4:00. Stop by and say hi if you are in the neighborhood—or visit your own local indie on Saturday, and show them some love.
If you’re looking for your next read and you like fantastical feminist fairytales (who doesn’t??), I highly suggest you check out the latest book by Elizabeth Cunningham, Over the Edge of the World. This Kirkus review offers a good overview of the novel.

After the reading at Stanza this weekend, I have 4 more events in the works for the rest of the year. More details on all to come, but for now, I’ll just mention that I’m teaching the poetry workshop at this year’s Beacon LitFest. There will be workshops in all genres—as well as panels featuring a slew of excellent writers. Please share this information with anyone you think might be interested!
Be well out there friends,
Kristen
