Technical Difficulties
I’ve once again gone a month without sending out a newsletter, but don’t feel left out: I haven’t done much of anything in the last month or so. My day job has always sucked, but the main reason I’ve stayed there is that normally the place ceases to exist when I walk out the door. Lately, that hasn’t happened. The job has gotten so frustrating and stupid that I’m completely burned out and useless when I get home.
So I’ve been looking for a new job, and I found one. It’s in the same company and involves taking a pay cut, but it’s with a department that seems way less toxic and the job is fully remote (so I get about half the pay cut back in money I won’t be spending on gas and fast food). I was supposed to start Monday.
I’m not the only one leaving. About a week after I officially got the new job my direct supervisor gave his notice, and a few other people have left in the past month. Since I’m staying with the company, I got stuck where I am for an extra two weeks, so I won’t be starting my new job until the 22nd.
I’m hoping that since all I have to do in the next two weeks is not get fired and I’m working from home the whole time (it was my condition for staying the extra two weeks), I’ll actually be able to start getting things done again. Worst case, I’ll be out of my current hellhole in two weeks and will be productive again then.

Steve
