The Power Fantasy is out next week, where folks are waiting for all things Magus. But we also have another reveal in the opening, finally meeting the long-teased The Signal.
If you are waiting for the collection, you probably shouldn’t read the fourth page.
Also, if you’re my mum, you probably should just scroll down and cover your eyes.

Suffice to say, it is the start of a sex scene, so if you want making out, we’re the book for you.
Get to your shops, physical or digital, next week and join in. Learn more about The Power Fantasy here.

Jim and I took time to write up another of the campaigns recently – in which case, it was the 2D20 version of Conan. I say things like…
Conversely, I made Conan, but Mesopotamian, and started my slow march to becoming a combine harvester with legs, as is my wont. There’s probably room for some self-analysis when presented to a game with more crunch than most the things I play, I’ll inevitably min-max some combat monster, because I care enough about system mastery to do the job, but I will never learn your crunchy magic system, not for you, not for anyone,
...and you can read the rest here.

Jim Shooter passed this week. Here’s the Beat’s collection of people’s remembrances all of which seem to use the word “complicated”. I only crossed paths at him once, when we were at MCM. I was rushing to try and get somewhere, and saw a guest-helper I knew and asked her to help. She was standing with an amazingly tall man. I got directions and legged it, and was 10m away when I realised “wait – that was Jim Shooter.” I haven’t got much to say about Shooter but he really was very tall.
This was an excellent post breaking down haircuts in The Power Fantasy.
If you had your curiosity piqued by my piece on the Seven Part Pact, two other players have submitted to the wizards madness and written about it. Here’s Emily on her poetic tips to play the game and here’s Brian on the Joys of being Overwhelmed.
As said before, the Mindless Ones newsletter resurrection has been lovely. This one has Tom Humberstone talking about Comics Poetry, Tennis and more.
This Humble Megabundle for RPGs is really a lot of RPGs. Like, this is enough RPGs that is basically a library of more games than most people will ever play in their life. If you want to dabble, and your dabbling involves “I’ll buy a swimming pool and fully immerse my whole body” then this is the place for you.

You know I said last week was squeezed as I was back from my holidays? That was true, but I also was viewing it basically as a fallow week to work on various side-projects, and that it was squeezed didn’t matter that much, as I didn’t have much that needed to be done.
Turns out that I actually had a The Power Fantasy script due on Friday.
Oh noes!
Thankfully, Caspar only needs it for tomorrow, so I pulled it together in a not-too-awful fashion (i.e. I didn’t work the weekend) along with all the other back matter for the coming issue. It’s all with Katie as we speak, so (hopefully) will be fine for Caspar to start work. Issue 12. Start of the third arc, and one I’ve been looking forward to writing forever. Let’s see what Katie thinks. I’m pretty sure of the bits she’s going to swear at me about.
However, with all that happening, it does mean that today is crushed, so if I am to do a newsletter (and I want to, to plug next week’s comic) I should get it done in the next 38 minutes.
So I will.
Speak soon.
