Our Biases

Keep these in mind when reading our work

I like to consider myself a responsible researcher. For this reason, it’s important to understand the biases that we have, to prevent falling into the “objectivity” fallacy that pervades journalism. Too often, cough white cough journalists like to think of themselves as passive objective observers and not normal people with their own life experiences that impact their work.

We are plural and non-binary. We grew up middle-class in the middle east and were privileged enough to escape for Scotland. We are mixed-race, an interesting mix of Black, Arab, Filipino and white. We’ve always had soft spots for animals and take animal rights very seriously.

We are fundamentally anarchists. We believe that power is bad and so are prisons. We solve issues in our communities through transformative justice, rather carceral means, whenever possible.

If you want to know about our system you can find out about that here. We also have Mastodon.
