A Perfect Time for Reflection

When we aim to be productive, we’re trying to complete specific tasks. Some tasks are small and what we might call “one-and-done,” while other tasks are long-term, complex, and require many productivity sessions until you hit the finish line.

While spending time answering reflection and planning prompts might not feel as outwardly “productive” as practices like setting goals or syncing your to-do list with your calendar, prioritizing reflection helps us to approach the way we spend our personal resources more mindfully.

Scheduling time to reflect on how we’ve been doing things and feeling about it is a valuable practice, so I’m endeavoring to support my readers in completing reflection throughout the year.

The mid-year hinge from June to July is a perfect time to check in and adjust our approaches, so I’ve generated a free guided workbook to help you do some reflection. I also created a recording of the workbook for folks who might prefer to listen to the instructions and exercises.

Today’s workbook and recording grew out of previous workshops and workbooks. It is focused explicitly on checking in on how our year has been going, plus imagining what we’d like the rest of the year to look like—including some prompts to discover steps we can take to get there. I hope you enjoy!

I’ll be back next week to talk about building habits with compassion and patience.

Take care and talk soon,

Dr. Kate
