Where the Heck Has Kalpar Been?
Hello! Yes, it’s me! Kalpar! I have returned to you now! Where have I been? Well last weekend was Moving Day, where we hired movers to pick up our furniture and boxes and move them a mile down the road from our apartment to our house. “So that means it’s over, right, Kalpar? You’re all settled into your house?”
Hahaha, I respond to this rhetorical comment from a hypothetical reader. For those of you who have not moved, moving is never a one-day experience. Oh no. Moving Day is merely the most intense day of the weeks-long process that is moving. No, there were a lot of things which the movers were unable to touch for various reasons so I had a very busy week of collecting those remaining items as well as cleaning out the apartment. Thankfully, with the help of my friend Reggie, Peabody and I were able to finish it this past Saturday. So moving has now entered the final phase: Figuring out where the heck the movers put that box with the really important item in it.
I am very tired, but now that we’re in the end stage I am thankfully a lot less stressed. Hopefully I will have time to get back to writing as things settle down. Provided my computer doesn’t need more updates. Again.
River City Steampunk Expo
This upcoming weekend I will be in Louisville for the River City Steampunk Expo. If you’re in the area and would like to say hi I’d greatly appreciate it. I have two panels scheduled, both in H.G. Wells at five. I have “Trains, Trains, Trains!” at five on Friday, and “Vampire Hunting 101” at five on Saturday. I’ve been told I’m very good at presenting and audiences have liked these presentations in the past so it’s definitely worth an hour.
Silas & Bundersnoot: Development Hell
So a combination of moving and a mistake on my part has put some hiccups in the final stages of Silas & Bundersnoot and the Cursed Sunbeam. As of right now I’ve got the manuscript out to my beta readers and they have a hard deadline of June 15th. So that being said, kickstarter is looking likely in July. Watch this space for more updates.
Rate My Familiar
There is still no familiar. Send me pictures of your pets at familiars@thekalpar.com for Bundersnoot to rate them.
Your friend in books and trains,
