Road Map for 2025-26, and I Need Your Help
Hello, everyone, sending out a quick email to let you know what’s going on with Ironhammer Publishing and by extension me, Kalpar.
Next Book
I have been working on the next Silas & Bundersnoot novel, which I’ve tentatively titled Growing Pains since a theme of the book is both Waif and Silas growing in their own ways. But how far along am I with writing it?

As you can see the draft is currently at 48,500 words, accumulated by writing a little bit day by day. I don’t know how long the final draft will end up being but Across Amastica was around 52,000 words so it will at least be as long, probably a little bit longer.
I’m at the point where I’m starting to think about editing, book cover, and other production tasks that go into finshing the book. There will be a Kickstarter to cover the editing costs, but that probably won’t be until 2026. Stay tuned for more details.
Plans for 2026
I’ve also been plotting out events that I’ll be attending next year selling books as well as miniatures and stickers. As of right now the only event I have confirmed is CONington in April of next year but I’ve got four or five other events I’ve applied to, mostly centered in Ohio. If you have any other events in or around Cincinnati that you think would be a good fit be sure to let me know! Anyway, if I get more confirmations I’ll be letting you all know.
I Need Your Help!

So I’ve been poking around online and a recommendation I got was advertising your books with excerpts from the book or even illustrating particularly funny scenes from the books. Like many writers, I have trouble rereading my own work which is where you, my wonderful readers can come to my aid.
Do you have a favorite quote from my books? Is there a scene that you think about all the time? Maybe one you imagine in comic? What quotes would you share with your friends to get them to read my books? Send me an email at kalpar@thekalpar.com and let me know!
That’s all the news I had for now. Everyone stay safe out there.
Your friend in books and trains,
— Kalpar
