Party Invitation and Cat Pictures Inside
Hi, everybody, welcome to another weekly update from Kalpar. First the most important news.
I'm Having a Party and You're Invited!
As I said in a previous email, the Cincy Book Rack has agreed to host a book launch party for Silas & Bundersnoot this upcoming Saturday, March 23rd. There will be cake! My friend Draya has agreed to read aloud from the book, and there will be copies available for sale if you haven't already gotten your hands on one. There will only be twenty-five copies and there's a possibility we'll run out so make your plans today.
Writing Progress
This past Monday I got my editorial notes back from Isabella and after taking a day to calm myself down I was finally brave enough to open the documents and take a look. And then the next day my computer decided it needed an update and proceeded to refuse to let me do anything. Once I'm done here, though, I'm going to start working on rewrites and hopefully it won't be too long before we're hammering out the final issues on Silas & Bundersnoot 2: Inspired by a True Story (Someone please help me, I can't come up with a good title.)
Rate My Familiar
This week's familiar comes from our reader Anne, let's see what Bundersnoot has to say.
This week's familiar is the handsome gentleman Othello, a cat about town who some people call Ozzy. Othello is extremely friendly and always knows where a fun toy or a comfortable basket can be found. However, for reasons I do not fully comprehend, Othello wants humans to give him belly rubs all the time. I enjoy belly rubs as much as the next cat, but to show that level of affection for humans makes them think they are at the top of the hierarchy. Sadly I must deduct a point in my evaluation and give Othello a 9/10 in this otherwise absolutely commendable cat.
If you would like Bundersnoot to rate your familiar, please send a picture as well as a short description to familiars@thekalpar.com and have them featured in a future newsletter.
