No matter the outcome of today's Parliamentary proceedings, that is, whether the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026 is withdrawn, stalled, or passed, we have existed before 2014; we have lived among and learnt from the worlds of trans, intersex, and nonbinary lives that have come before us; and we will keep alive these past and present embodiments as queer futurity, as our futurity.
