Update - 0603/2023
Good evening!
Another quiet one this week as I've been travelling a lot this week, and I've been putting together more behind the scenes admin stuff. I've just been filling in some of my admin for EasterCon 2023, which I'm very excited about, and I'm sure I'll see some of you there come April!
I've also been uploading some of my back catalogue of erotic shorts to Ao3 and Literotica respectively - these are obviously both free sites and are different to Medium and Patreon, which are a semi-paid and a paid subscription service. I will not be uploading everything to Ao3 or Literotica - I'm basically going to put up one or two bigger erotic shorts per month.
Honestly, this is a thing I'm experimenting in just to increase my outreach to new readership - Literotica allows you to link to your Patreon, and while Ao3 doesn't allow links to commerical sites, it does let me refer people to my Tumblr!
Much of the way I reached a wider audience before was via Twitter, but since Elon Musk has tanked a lot of the website, many people have stopped using it entirely (understandably), and the site itself is quite broken - I personally think that it will eke through before he sells it on to someone else, and then slowly gain a bit more popularity again, but I wouldn't be surprised if the site completely collapses in on itself in the next while.
Either way, it's not as valuable for self-promotion as it used to be, and it's important for me to try to reach new readership and connect with new readers, thus the crossposting to Literotica especially! If you've joined me from Literotica or came across my work on social media from Ao3, it's lovely to have you along, welcome.
But just an explanation for other readers in case anyone's thinking, oh, I'm subbed on Medium or Patreon, but now he's uploading everything for free somewhere else - it's just gonna be a handful of things, not everything! Especially on Literotica, I'm mostly going to be publishing scattered longer cis M/M works and the kinkier ones.
I'm also hoping to branch out to submitting to a few more publications and competitions and so forth, so if people have recs for those, I'm more than open to them.
Some movie recs:
A Civil Action (1998, dir. Steven Zaillian) - This one was interesting - I don't think it's the most impactful film I've ever seen, but it's very different as far as courtroom movies go, and it goes really hard on debt and the money manipulation aspects of these US corporate civil cases that was really interesting to see depicted in this light.
October Sky (1999, dir. Joe Johnstone) - You know, this film took me completely by surprise, it's such a little gem - it's set in a mining town and is all about a group of high school students who see the Sputnik launch and basically get into rocket science for themselves! A lot of it is them trial and error-ing the engineering and chemistry, but it's so full of love for their process and a lot of their small town supporting them whilst also trying to be realistic about their chances of getting out? And it's just funny and very well-done.
Hidden Figures (2016, dir. Theodore Melfi) - This was a fun film as well, really digging into the American side of rocket engineering and all the mathematics behind it. Such a funny script, so well-paced and with such fucking rocking performances from Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monáe, and my beloved, Taraji P. Henson - with that said, there's some white saviour moments (and additional Black suffering moments) that have been crammed into this script that are just not historically accurate, and you can really tell they were just shoehorned in there to make white audiences more comfortable and to make it "believable" to white people. I liked so much of this film despite those moments, but I'm reccing it with that caveat because it's so blatant and unnecessary.
As you might have gleaned from the two latter films, I'm really on a kick for movies about the US-Soviet Space Race at the moment, so if people have movie recs for this theme (especially from unexpected angles), definitely rec away! I really loved Sputnik (2020, dir. Egor Abramenko) when it came out, so especially if you have recs that are a bit more unusual or alternate universe takes or similar, I would love those too!

Erotic Short: Fit For Purpose
Supervillains and superheroes, but with stretchy bodies and massive cocks, between a huge cis male alien superhero and a trans man supervillain with whole-body elasticity. 4.2k.
Silly and light in humour, but extreme on the porn! Featuring pheromones (mildly dubious consent for this, but both parties use pheromones to get their way, and are enthusiastically into it), come inflation, huge size difference, unrealistic sex, alien dicks, prodigious amounts of come, dom/sub, mild corporal punishment, undernegotiated kink, rough sex, objectification, dirty talk.
