BristolCon, a busy few weeks, and further markets to come!
Good evening!
Thanks so much to everyone who came along and said hello or bought books at this year's BristolCon! It was a really fun Saturday, and it was great to click with other queer authors who were around and just to chat.
I have applied for a dealer's table and we've sorted our accommodation for WorldCon 2024, which is in Glasgow this year, so I'll definitely be at that - if you're planning on coming, I would absolutely recommend that you sort out your accommodation in the next few weeks, as WorldCon is from the 8-12th of August in Glasgow, which apart from skyrocketing summer hotel and accommodation prices, coincides with the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe, which is another big festival that will further heighten those expected prices.
I won't be at EasterCon 2024, but as well as WorldCon 2024 I'll be at the usual BristolCon 2024 - I don't know yet what other conventions I'll put on the list.
As for other places I'm selling books in person, I'll be at the Our House - Wakefield LGBTQ+ Makers' Fair on Saturday 18th November selling copies of Heart of Stone and Gerald Poole and the Pirates, as well as assorted badges - I've got a few other queer and arts markets I'd like to do, but if you have suggestions for good queer and trans ones, please do let me know!
No media recs this email around as I'll put up another one next time - needless to say, the Our Flag Means Death Season 2 run was pretty bad, and I'm very disappointed by it, but I want to make sure I have more positive stuff to offer instead before I get into the ways in which it failed.

TV Recs: So you finished Our Flag Means Death...
So, Our Flag Means Death, unexpected workplace romcom chock-a-block with anachronistic 18th century fun, piracy on the high seas, gay and trans and otherwise genderweird and queer characters, not to mention neurodivergent and disabled ones, is over for at least another year. You’re aching for something of a similar flavour to fill the gap — especially if, like many of us, the finale has left you disappointed and eager to watch a show with a bit more care for its queer audiences.
