Patio Cocktails
I hope you are all enjoying your summer!
This evening I whipped up one of my wife’s favorite cocktails and I got to thinking about patio cocktails. You know, something easy to make, easy to drink, and might even help with the coming heat!
I thought I’d just share a few recipes. These are all very approachable and you might even have all the ingredients handy.
The Lynchburg Lemonade (my wife’s favorite)
Fill a highball glass or a mason jar with ice. Over the ice add the following:
1.5 oz — Jack Daniels
1 oz — Cointreu
0.75 oz — Lemon juice (fresh is always best!)
0.25 oz — Simple syrup
4 oz — Lemon Lime soda
The Paloma
Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice and add the following:
2 oz — Corralejo Tequila Silver or your favorite blanco tequila
0.5 oz — Lime juice (fresh is always best)
1 pinch — Salt
Finish with grapefruit soda such as Fever Tree Pink Grapefruit or Jarritos
Garnish with a lime wheel
The Orange Buck (Local favorite IYKYK)
First, ice a large rocks glass and add the following:
2 oz — Glacial Lakes Stony Point Gin
1 oz — Orange Juice
1 TBSP — Lime Juice (fresh… remember?)
Finish with Ginger Ale
Fantastic for summer, but respect this one. It can sneak up on you!
Happy, happy summer to you all!
