Falling into Fall
It’s been a busy week. I was off in Edmonton, head down and narrowly focused. Between the intense discussions in the office, and (traditional/independent/social) media in high gear, it’s been a lot.
But with the weekend upon us - and hopefully a chance to disengage and catch my breath - I wanted to call out a couple of cool things that are happening on the personal, creative front.
First, not much to report on DEAD MONEY, except that we (and by “we” I mostly mean Devinder) have been investigating our next steps in dealing with Backerkit and getting an online presence sorted out. More on that, soon.
SUBVERSIVE SCI-FI EVOLUTION

Then, Devinder and I have an essay that was accepted into Everyone's Gone to the Movies Vol. 5: Subversive Sci-Fi Evolution (Ghost Show Press).
On 1 October, 2025, Ghost Show Press' Everyone's Gone to the Movies series is BACK! Vol. 5: Subversive Sci-Fi Evolution goes live on Kickstarter.
You can sign up on the pre-launch page here, to be notified when it launches in early October.
It’s a fun topic* and a great series to be a part of, so we are very excited to join this prestigious group of authors.
*more details coming soon, but we discussed and dissected a SF horror thriller from the year 2000.
UNSEEN AGREEMENTS

Secondly, I am thrilled to announce that I sold a short story! It will be published later this fall in Unseen Agreements (Beaches and Trails Publishing).
You can preorder the Kindle version on sale for the sale price of $2.99 USD ($3.99 CAN).

My story, True Ink, is a fun one. It’s very Canadian, and an homage to Charles de Lint.

CAN-CON 2025
Finally, CANCON 2025 is happening in Ottawa in about a month. It’s Ottawa’s SF, Fantasy, and Horror Literature convention, and one of the best in Canada.
I’ll be there - for my 3rd year running - and can’t wait to see folks!
