Jen Wood' Folk Music Update January 2026
Hello friends, I’ve missed writing to you!
I haven’t had any shows or new music released for a few months, so I figured I’d give your inbox a rest.
It’s been far from quiet in these parts, though. I’m sure you’ve all seen and heard plenty of news from Minneapolis lately, and I don’t know that I need to add much to it. I am as enraged, frightened, and saddened as the rest of us.
But fifty-thousand of my closest friends and neighbors have joined together — I among them — to feed, shelter, give rides to, and protect our immigrant neighbors. And this fills me with so much hope for our humanity. As I hope it does for you.
We will persist.
On to the music…
I have two shows currently on the books. One in just ten days!

Please be patient if it’s slow to load, it runs on an old laptop in my office… you can still find my music at Bandcamp or Mirlo if it takes too long.

Thanks, and a little poem
Thanks for reading this whole rambling post. And thanks for listening to my music, writing to say hello, and coming to shows when you can. I can’t tell you how much it means to me when someone else finds a home in these old songs.
I’d like to leave you with this poem, by Wendell Berry.
February 2, 1968
In the dark of the moon, in flying snow, in the dead of winter,
war spreading, families dying, the world in danger,
I walk the rocky hillside, sowing clover.
With love, light, song, and hope
—Jen
