Traditionally, secondary fantasy worlds have hovered somewhere between late Medieval and early Renaissance, depending on whether the author or designer wants primitive firearms.

There’s another spike in the 19^th century with gaslight fantasy. Other tech levels are rarely seen…but I’d love to see more of them.

I just read a book where the overall tech level was neolithic. Stone age. The author made it work.
