I read very quickly. In the last week, I have read two books with polyamorous romances. One had a very, very cute throuple. The other...not so much.

It got me thinking about polyamory in fiction and not just how to write good rep, but how to recognize it if you aren't polyam yourself or familiar with that scene.

Science fiction has always explored things like group marriages, term marriages, and other ways of organizing things. Heinlein, who was polyamorous, included it a lot in his books (ironically, though, not always well).

So let's talk about some of the myths about polyamory and what good representation might look like.
