Thinking about Bodies, Horror, and Puberty

Middle grade horror is a strange beast. In some ways, kids can tolerate certain kinds of horror better than adults. 

Kids also still live in a world where there might be monsters. I definitely had one under the bed for a while. Never in the closet, though. I had an actual wardrobe and routinely checked the back to see if I could get to Narnia.

But the MG horror book I just read made me think about kids and a specific type of horror:

Body horror.
