Rats and Hopepunk

So, four announcements this week! They’re like city buses.
Game On!
Remember this anthology? It’s been nominated for Best Related Work (which sounds weird) in the Aurora Awards!
That’s Canada’s national science fiction award, so I’m an honorary Canadian right now. Which is not why the beaver lodge. You’ll find out why the beaver lodge.
It’s eligible because editors Stephen Kotowych and Tony Pi, are Canadian. Kotowych has also been nominated for editing Canada’s Year’s Best.
If you’re Canadian, please vote…and you’ll get a free copy in the package.
Whether or not you’re Canadian, the online awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, August 11th, at 5pm EDT.
Neurodiversiverse
The Neurodiversiverse kickstarter is now a Project We Love. Please back it if you hadn’t…we have 10 more days to make the $5,000 goal that will, among other things, significantly increase pay to writers.
Earth 2100
The Earth 2100 hopepunk anthology will be released on Wednesday, May 8, in ebook and paperback versions. Isn’t that cover art just amazing! It contains 18 stories of a hopeful future for our planet. This includes my “A Burden on the Earth.” I’ll be posting again next week. Coatsworth makes amazing anthologies and this one is no exception!
Rattus Futura
Here’s why the beaver lodge. The Rattus Futura anthology will be released on Monday, May 6. Thankfully not the same day! It will be available in ebook, paperback and hardcover.
You can preorder the book through the Manawaker web site. I’ll post the links on social media as posting more than one or two links in email can get one compared to a canned meat product.
My story, “Angel’s World,” is about the way we have always exploited rodents and also about the role of beavers as ecosystem engineers. I will warn that it doesn’t end great for the beavers…
The other stories are about a variety of rodents…not just rats and mice. I know there’s at least one capybara story!
So, something for everyone to enjoy coming next week. Share your own news if you have any!
