Philcon News!

So, I have my schedule for Philcon 2024.
Friday 6pm - Climate Change Fiction vs. Climate Change Reality
Saturday 11am - Signing
Saturday noon - Scrabbling for Representation
Saturday 1pm - Writing for Aliens: Realistic yet Relatable Perspectives
Saturday 3pm - Ncuti Gatwa: Bringing the Fun Back to Doctor Who
Saturday 5pm - Was Zardoz all that bad?
Sunday 10am - Readings with Brett James and Danielle Ackley-McPhail
Sunday noon - Hopepunk in Dystopian Times
Sunday 1pm - Gods and Their Wars
I also plan on attending the eSpecs Book Launch Party. I’m not one of their authors, but Danielle throws great parties and it’s a good place to corner me. As will the bar be on Friday night as Philcon didn’t give me much in the evenings. Nice mix of writer-y panels and fun panels.
An entire panel on Zardoz? Unfortunately, it’s on Prime, so rewatching it will be tough…but it’s probably one of the most unforgettable movies of all time. I can play it in my head.
Unfortunately, it’s a little early in the day for appropriate lubrication. I don’t think the bar will be open yet…
And as a reminder, I will be at the Fredericksburg Book Fair next Saturday. Please, if you’re in the area, swing by and look for me…and maybe buy some books from an entire slew of indie and small press authors across every genre.
The day after, I’m flying to St. Louis to visit my father-in-law and then do some hiking in the Trail of Tears park area. Should we go to the Mastodon museum?
Of course we probably should!
