One Mississippi, Two Mississippi - America's Great River

2,350 miles. Ten states. 16,792 cubic feet of water into the Gulf…per second. And, even now, 175 million tons of freight a year.

That’s the Mighty Mississippi, splitting our country into two…and uniting its economy. From Lake Itasca to New Orleans…and from the past to the future…the Mississippi River has been a larder and a highway for humans since we…and I don’t mean the European we…came to this continent.

So, what should we think about when we consider this river.
