Okay, So...
Okay, so I wrote this on the 11th. Any news I have will come out when I get back, so have a gate to…somewhere.
I actually really like this gate.
Our trip plans are to visit my husband’s father and sister in St. Louis, then drive south/downstream to spend a few days in a small place called Anna, which features…a lesbian Cajun restaurant. In small town Illinois.
Maybe this is why the rural people are scared. They might have to have fun with us.
I don’t have a lot of specific plans. We’re mostly going to be in the Trail of Tears State Forest/Shawneee National Forest area. Might go to a fossil museum. Will probably return with some kind of story idea or something to throw at my players or something.
We’re definitely going to go to the ghost town of Cairo, at the Mississippi/Ohio confluence and do some street photography. It has a handful of inhabitants left, but is being slowly eaten by the rivers, so it’s a liminal place at this point. It won’t be with us that much longer.
A reminder that change is inevitable, I suppose.
