No, You Can't Do That With That Horse

Rio has a strong opinion on this post! (No, actually, he’s just hoping for a snack).
There’s a saying that there are two things you absolutely have to get right in fiction: Guns and horses.
Every time I hear that I’m reminded of how long it took me to find out what kind of sidearm a British World War II fighter pilot carried. Fighter pilots always carried a pistol for personal defense in case they got shot down. I needed him to run out of ammunition, and thus I needed to know for sure how many bullets were in his gun.
I had to go to a gun fanatic BBS to find out ;). Because I knew what would happen if I got it wrong!
Horses, however, I do know. Sometimes people make some egregious…or hilarious…errors and I figured I’d share a few.
