Maybe Some Shouting at the Screen?

The Avengers 2.10 "School For Traitors"
A college instructor kills himself...or does he? He uses a silencer. Who does that?
Steed has to infiltrate the college while Venus helps. Turns out there's a shadowy organization targeting undergraduates with blackmail so they can use them later.
Apparently they were so behind that they wrapped filming and then broadcast it the same day.
It's a fun little episode, although I definitely prefer Cathy to Venus. Steed doesn't do a good job of pretending to be an academic (and once more we have the trope of the spy who goes undercover under his own name and somehow nobody noticed.
Steed is flirting with Venus again, as always. But he gets made pretty quickly, despite both of their best efforts.
There's also a goof with pounds and guineas (a guinea, btw, is 1.05 pounds). What gets said is that the check is for two hundred and twenty pounds but the guy wrote two hundred and twenty guineas (231 pounds), but apparently the script says that he wrote out two hundred...
...presumably they just didn't have time to fix it, but the incorrect version still works, so...
The Handmaid's Tale 6.2 "Exile"
I didn't shout quite as much at the screen this time, but I can't say there was no shouting at the screen. Serena finds a community where she can heal and be happy...and throws it away to take Lawrence's offer to help run New Bethlehem.
Not smart, Serena Joy. Not smart. You should know it won't work. It's a trap.
Luke and Moira, meanwhile, disappear on a mission for Mayday and Nick isn't talking to them...likely because he's under heavy surveillance from his probably murderous father-in-law.
June thinks she can get through to him. At least she has the sense to leave Nichole/Holly with mommy dearest. As dysfunctional as that relationship is, the kid should be safe with her.
But really, Luke? And extra really, Serena?
The Handmaid's Tale 6.3 "Devotion"
Lawrence is clearly serious about reforming Gilead. I just don't think he realizes how this is going to end.
He and Serena welcome diplomats while Nick helps June get Luke and Moira out of a tough spot.
And now Lydia has found out that no longer fertile Handmaids are being sent to Jezebel's. She is...not amused.
Not amused at all.
I don't think this will end with the destruction of Gilead. That might be for the sequel. But it will end with Gilead in a worse place.
And this might be the final straw for Lydia. Her girls are her family, her children, and they're being used and discarded...
The Handmaid's Tale 6.4 "Promotion"
For now, it looks like Lawrence's gamble is working. New Bethlehem nets him a promotion to High Commander and a trip to Jezebel's.
Where he kind of semi-apologizes to Janine and pretends to sleep with her. He hasn't consummated his new marriage, either, or even tried to.
This isn't going to be pretty. His new wife is starting to, well, expect some action.
Meanwhile, June, Luke, and Moira are doing the stupid hero fight thing over who gets to go take risks in Gilead, which they're all going to lose. The obvious solution IS for both June and Moira to disguise themselves as Marthas, infiltrate Jezebel's, and hook up with Janine in the non-sexual way, but they're not doing a great job of getting there.
Oh, and Rose's dad is courting Serena. Don't do it, Serena. He's a piece of work. You don't need another man, let alone one like that.
But...yeah. Yelling at the screen time again.
The Avengers 2.21 "The White Dwarf"
Note, is there anything Cathy Gale doesn't know about? We haven't found it yet.
The problem with this episode is, of course, that science has marched on. We now know the sun is not part of a binary system and "Nemesis" does not exist. This episode doesn't know that yet.
(The Nemesis theory lasted all the way into the 90s, so they can be forgiven).
This episode also doesn't know about neutron stars or black holes.
The plot itself holds up better than the science. Faking the apocalypse for insider trading? We know people who would do that.
So it's still fun, but sometimes...sometimes you have to remember the release date on a show for it to actually work.
