Last Girls and Beer!
So, first off, we postponed the June Books & Brews to July because nobody could make it.
This means we have two events in July.
The first is at Settle Down Easy Brewing Company in Falls Church on July 14. They’re a nano brewer with some really interesting brews. I’m tempted to try the SDE Helles. For food, there will be a taco stand, and they also have gourmet hot dogs.
Our second event is at Atlas Brew Works in Washington, D.C., on July 21. This is the Ivy City location not the Navy Yard one. They have a taproom and a beer garden, and host food pop ups. I don’t know what the food will be.
Come to either or both to hang out with writers, get signed books and enjoy some beer.
Last Girls Club
I have a piece in the summer 2024 issue of my favorite feminist horror zine, Last Girls Club. The piece is “Purple Day” and it’s a vent about poor air quality caused by forest fires. (Purple is the color of severe air quality alerts. The air quality last year made me sick and killed a pony I was very fond of…he had COPD and you can’t really bring them indoors…)
So, that’s my updates for this week. I really hope to see some of you raising a glass at our events!
