Is This Your Lucky Day?

Black Sails 2.6
Don’t listen to Max. Just don’t. It looks very much like she’s selling prize locations to multiple crews now, with predictable results.
Billy Bones is not telling anyone Flint pushed him off the ship. He fell, honest. We all know better.
And Rackham…well…you know, he should have taken what he got, but this IS the show of Bad Decisions <tm>.
Abigail is going to be returned to her father. (Now that would be a twist: What if she didn’t want to go? Nah, that’s just the story I would write. Which would probably have lesbian co captains).
It’s just getting more and more of a tangled mess as time goes on. More and more…ya know…
Bad Decisions show for the win, right?
“Let’s be reasonable.”
Nobody on this show has ever been reasonable.
Black Sails 2.7
Billy sets a wonderful trap for the dishonest men on Flint’s crew. Did Flint save him or push him? He claims he doesn’t care.
We know he does.
And now John is up to even more shenanigans, intercepting the scouts returning to tell Flint the Urca gold is unprotected…and bribing them to say instead that it’s gone.
Eleanor gets Abigail out of the fort. Poor girl is so shaken up. And things are definitely over between her and Vane.
Right?
Right.
Bad decisions still abound. Anne, for example, what are you even doing?
Sigh.
Max.
Max is the real problem here, isn’t she.
Doctor Who 2.4 “Lucky Day”
This is the classic Doctor-lite episode. It’s also the promised return, for one episode, of Ruby Sunday. Millie Gibson carries the episode beautifully.
Ex companions have a hard time of it, and Ruby is desperately trying to return to a normal life. She meets Conrad, a podcaster who has previously had an encounter with an alien predator known as a Shreek…and is marked as prey.
She gives him the antidote…and her heart.
Unfortunately, he turns out to be the real monster of the piece…
This episode is about abuse. CW: Child abuse. It’s also about influencers…the bad kind. It’s about peddlers of lies.
The Doctor lies, but in this episode he tells the truth people don’t want to hear.
And we haven’t heard the last of Conrad. UNIT puts him in jail, but Mrs. Flood lets him out. No doubt she has some purpose for him.
Ruby decides to go on an extended vacation to try and deal with her PTSD. She’ll be back too, no doubt…
But poor Ruby, getting honeypotted like that.
