Helicopters on Mars...and in All Kinds of Other Places

Somebody asked me on Threads about airlines I flew that didn’t exist any more. I had to go for the prize and go for British Airways Helicopters. 1978. St. Mary, Scilly Isles to Penzance, on board a Sea King helicopter.

Alas, I don’t remember it well. But I don’t know anyone else who’s first flight was on a helicopter. Scheduled helicopter service is rare for the simple reason that choppers use so much fuel.

But I figured it was time to go through a few historical milestones of helicopters.
