Every society that has to deal with winter has some kind of midwinter festival to cheer everyone up.
So let’s cheer each other up. I hope everyone is eating too many cookies and too much turkey, enjoying eggnog (adult or otherwise), and gets at least one of the things they wanted without having to buy it themselves.
I hope the kids and pets are cute too. Last year somebody bought the toddler a toy chainsaw and he insisted on pretending to open all the gifts with it.
On the other hand, I hope the cat doesn’t knock over the tree.
