Flap, Flap, Flap!

A tall tree, only somewhat green. A large black bird is perched on the top.

So, this has not been a fun week. Instead of working, I spent last Friday…having emergency eye surgery. Look up posterior vitreous detachment. Or don’t. You probably don’t want to know.

RavenCon was mostly amazing. I may have found a new editor, and am talking to a podcast about being scheduled as a guest. I won’t talk about the parts that weren’t except that the hotel has been making things right with at least some of us. Ahem.

If you want to read my story “Stone Soup Colony,” you need to subscribe to Worlds of Possibility now…it’s going to go out to subscribers on Monday. It’s just a cute little flash about working together.

And about our crowbars…they are fledged! They are now learning important things about crow life, such as how to fly, which branches can hold their weight (not that one!), and the all important cawing practice.

One of them seems to be a little bit sore today and is resting in the nest. The other two are doing a good impression of ash leaves and I can’t really keep track of them. Such active birds.

Soon they will fly off and we’ll never be able to tell them from the rest of the neighborhood crows. But in the meantime they’ve been my primary entertainment…I haven’t been allowed to read books all week!

Fate worse than death!
