Fire on a sailing ship is bad. Shame. I liked that ship.
I was highly amused by the Highlander-style interspersed training montage.
Also, Silver sees Flint as a friend. I’m not sure Flint sees Silver as a friend, but Silver’s so straight he’s oblivious ;).
Either way, the conflict between the two has a strong tinge of tragedy.
Skeleton Island is beautifully done. You can just imagine an entire crew of hardened pirates succumbing to mass hysteria in this environment. I want to go there and don’t all at the same time…but I also have a bit of a thing for creepy woods.
(Nothing quite beats redwoods, though).
One episode left. The treasure has been hidden and few know where it is…setting up for the story this all leads in to.
Silver and Billy have to live. Nobody else does.
I hope we see a little bit more of Max before it closes out.
But again, fire on a sailing ship is bad.
The bad decision is just Flint and Silver fighting and at odds…

The Handmaid’s Tale 2.5 “Seeds”
CW: Child marriage.
There’s a mass wedding in the book…the show moves it to season two and has Nick as one of the grooms. And these girls are young. Nick’s bride, Eden, is, per the internet, fifteen (I guessed sixteen, close enough).
She’s a quiet, devout farm girl, who is horrified when Serena Joy tells her to, basically, try to enjoy her wedding night instead of lying back and thinking of Gilead.
And she’s Nick’s reward for good service. A prize. A broodmare, if all goes well.
Then the show offers us a contrast…in contrast to the sterile mass wedding with child brides, we get the queer deathbed wedding in the colonies.
Even in a concentration camp, the show says, people can find joy…but there’s definitely no joy in Nick’s relationship with Eden.
Meanwhile, Offred stresses herself nearly into a miscarriage. Looks like the child will live, but…self care? Well, maybe she’s scared herself out of being so broken she can’t look after herself.
I’d like to see her bond with Eden, but…not seeing it happen.
