Wynonna Earp 4.5 “Holy War Part 1”
That’s it. This show owes me a gay wedding. This show owes me a gay wedding. Does that count as queerbaiting? Having the wedding scene turn out to be a nightmare?
Nicole tries to tell the team about her deal with the Clantons, but every time she does so, she vomits frogs. Also, she’s partially possessed…or something.
Wynonna finds Peacemaker, but it wants nothing to do with her. Probably needs Waverly to have a chat with it. Or maybe she needs to actually find some confidence in herself as Wynonna, not the Heir?
Even Wynonna can’t bring herself to swear in front of a nun…
Wynonna Earp 4.6 “Holy War Part 2”
Oh Wynonna, that was not…a good look. Well, at least the last surviving revenant is in a safe space…sort of.
(Medea? Really?)
Meanwhile, they attempt to exorcise Nicole by “drowning” her and putting her soul in a frog. Yes, Waverly does end up kissing the frog. I mean, you can’t put somebody’s true love in a frog and not have frog kissing.
(Unfortunately, Nicole is no longer in the frog).
Doc and Wynonna are fighting again, but Nicole and Waverly are engaged, so maybe I’ll get my gay wedding! I demand a gay wedding.
Wynonna Earp 4.7 “Love’s All Over”
I’m pretty sure some show or other did the cynical Cupid plot before. In this case, the cynical Cupid decides to pass the cupid power on to Waverly. Never mind, it was in fact, Wizards of Waverly Place and by coincidence…
Oops.
Major shenanigans ensue, including the homophobic county clerk suddenly discovering she might not be 100% straight and going after Waverly…and basically, half of Purgatory is going after Waverly and the other half after each other. Wynonna is in full blown slut mode, but that might just be that she’s really broken.
Cleo Clanton is up to something, but at least the Cupid takes his power back. With some shooting in butts, of course. And it does seem to have cured the clerk of her homophobia (and now she’s after Nedley, but that seems like a decent pairing).
Mostly a non-plot episode.
“That love spell doesn’t take into account consent” sums up the problem with love spells.
Wizards of Waverly Place 2.10 "Baby Cupid"
Two love-themed episodes in a row, what, did these drop in February? The Russo parents have a legendary fight on their anniversary.
Alex decides to fix this by hiring Cupid. Who gives no takes-backsies. Once he's hired, he won't leave until Alex's mother gets hit with his arrow.
Shenanigans ensue, including Justin getting hit with the arrow and becoming annoyingly in love with Harper. Who realizes that is not, after all, what she wants. Fortunately, it wears off.
Or, rather, when reality hits, the spell breaks.
(I assume dad is just mending that lamp with magic every time it gets broken).
Wizards of Waverly Place 2.11 "Make It Happen"
When your lead actress is also a musician, you do at some point need an excuse to have her sing. An impromptu talent contest occurs after the wizard guidance counselor shows up (with a facial deformity that's funny, grumble) to remind the kids only one of them gets to stay a wizard.
The other two need backup plans, which results in Alex and Justin forming a band and Max playing with the other kind of magic.
It's all an excuse to listen to Selena Gomez, though, and I'll take it. She already had a decent instrument.
