Beautiful Cliffhangers

A narrow road runs through green grass, between rough and tumble cliffs.

The Beauty 1.10 "Beautiful Beauty Day"

I know they want to keep the pattern going, but this episode title did not really work. Byron releases the Beauty a day early, foiling our heroes' plans.

And now we have high school kids getting it. And...well...what happens to that one girl is creepy.

It's all creepy, of course.

And, of course, you need boosters for life or your head explodes.

That girl's head is going to explode. I can see it coming.

Also, that guy Conor, he'll give you the Beauty if you're already reasonably attractive. Because like that wasn't going to happen.

The goal, of course, is to control the entire human race. And make a lot of money.

The Beauty 1.11 "Beautiful Betrayal"

Okay, so I was warned.

The end of this is full blown cancellation chicken and a full blown cliffhanger. Yeah, it's that bad.

Tig and Gunther decide to dose their mother to keep their dad happy. She attempts suicide. He decides he's had enough. The Beauty is...well...it turns out it only has about an 85% success rate, and we get to see some of the failures.

Tig hires Cooper and co to assassinate his dad, and gives Cooper an untested drug, developed by AI, to reverse the effect.

And that's it. Cooper comes out of the cocoon and we see their reactions and roll credits.

It's such a bad example of cancellation chicken I'm not sure I want it to be renewed.

Wizards of Waverly Place 2.1 "Smarty Pants"

So, the Russos have a pair of actual smarty pants. Harper's team for the quiz bowl lost a member.

Shenanigans ensue. Alex isn't smart, at least not book smart, but the smarty pants make her super smart...so smart that she ends up fighting with poor Harper.

(And ends up with skeleton legs, although it seems to wear off quickly, or there's a counter spell).

Everyone believes they're tights. Everyone is kinda dumb in this show.

Wizards of Waverly Place 2.2 "Beware Wolf"

Justin agrees to a blind date based on a Wizface profile. It's not the first time. The first time didn't go well either.

Yeah.

He has a date with a werewolf. And gets turned into a werewolf, temporarily at least.

One of those, uh, heavy handed episodes. We don't need this moral lesson again and again and again, although I suppose when this was made...

No blind dates over the internet, kids.

Wizards of Waverly Place 2.3 "Graphic Novel"

They must have blown the entire season budget on this. Seriously. Alex, it turns out, keeps a diary in comic form.

And likes to use magic to hide inside it. Where she has a knight that's drawn to look like her secret crush that nobody must ever know about.

So, who finds out?

GiGi of course.

I actually think the lesson here is not to take your diary to school, because somebody will find it and read it, magic or no magic.

The teddy bear bit is kinda hilarious, though.
