Balticon Was Awesome

Great panels, amazing people, fantastic empanadas and a visit from the Ecuadoran Navy bearing chocolate. (The picture is the deck of the Guayas, the navy’s sail trainer. A steel-hulled barque full of cadets practicing their English on the locals).
I really can’t complain. The empanadas were from The Empanada Lady, which reminded me of everything I love about Baltimore and helped me put aside what happened two years ago.
I think the highlight was the ecology panel, where I represented hopepunk writers but kept up with the “real” scientists!
Next “stop” is the Nebulas Weekend.
Signed a contract with my favorite horror zine The Last Girls Club to publish a story entitled “Purple Day.” You’ll have to read the zine to find out what it’s about ;).
Yeah, I’m teasing people. It’s retaliation for Shake Shack having their Pride shakes on the menu board…but not actually available yet! Don’t torture the queers, people. And then they said they’d do chocolate salted caramel for me anyway and were out of chocolate.
I think that tortures the straights too, right?
