Quick updates

Hello friends! This is going to be a quick one, with just a few short updates for Fall.

The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy will be released next month…! This volume includes my Nebula Finalist story “The Witch Trap,” along with nineteen other absolutely incredible short stories. If you want to get it when it comes out, preorder it anywhere you buy books (including Bookshop.org, which supports independent bookstores.)

But if you can’t wait for October to read “The Witch Trap,” I have good news: it’s now free to read in the online magazine The Dark! While you’re there, read the other three stories published in the issue; they’re all fantastic.

Later this month, my story “A Fallen Angel Rings the Doorbell” will be published in The Sunday Morning Transport. As the name of the magazine implies, subscribers receive a story in their email inbox each Sunday morning (can you think of a better way to start the day than with a story?) The first story of the month is always free to read; you might remember that my story “Written on the Subway Walls” was published in SMT on the first Sunday in February. “A Fallen Angel Rings the Doorbell” will not come out on the first Sunday of the month… but if you want it in your inbox when it’s released, here’s a free 60-day subscription.

And last but certainly not least: a story of mine will appear in another Best of the Year anthology! “The Colonists” was chosen to be published in ECO24: The Year’s Best Speculative Ecofiction. (Look at that gorgeous cover!) This anthology will be released in November; it’ll be available at major retailers, but if you preorder it at this link you can get it for 30% off.

Until next time!
