Jeanne's Spring 2019 Update
A few tidbits for you all as we hit the high point of green and flowers:
1) Two of my photos (pictured above) were selected for inclusion in Exposed DC's Spring 2019 Fotowalk exhibition on display in the Crystal City Fotowalk Underground. I love that they picked one of my macro flower photos and one of my classic "lookdown" photos. The flower photo was taken on a walk in my neighborhood, while the magenta photo shows an interesting pattern of weathering on a painted surface.
The exhibition opened at the beginning of April and will remain on display through September 2019. It is completely free and open to the public. Located in Crystal City, Virginia and featuring 150 photos from 62 photographers, the exhibition explores how color is used in photography. The photos are on display on the walls of the interior walkways that connect the Crystal City Metro Station with many local businesses and residences (see map below).
2) Continuing the happy theme of purple flowers in springtime, I have uploaded the photo below, taken just last week in downtown DC, to my RedBubble store. You can order prints of this photo through them - as well as get it on all sorts of items - like mugs, stickers, or journals.
If there is ever one of my photos you spot on Instagram that you would like me to add to my RedBubble store, just drop me an email at [email protected].
3) My archives book is currently available in Kindle format on Amazon for $9.99 - but only for the month of April!
While the book's primary audience is archivists, the chapters are each a great introduction to their topic for anyone, regardless of background or profession. I wrote chapter overviews of each chapter to give you a sense of what the book is about.
Happy Spring!
Jeanne
