I love YouTube. The amount and variety of content is basically infinite. If you have an obscure hobby or interest, there’s probably a video on it somewhere.
Which is how I found this video. I recently discovered Matt Ferrell’s channel, Undecided, where he concentrates new, emerging technologies, and he often drifts into residential HVAC.
I’ve shared the video that got me to subscribe to his channel below. He documents the install and operation of his ground source heat pump system. We (HVAC sales engineers in California specifically) are always quick to mention ground source heat pumps and say they’re a thing but they’re too expensive and you need a lot of land to account for the ground loops. I’ve never actually seen one in person, but this is as close as I’ll get.

We were exhibitors at this year’s IHACI trade show in Pasadena. It’s always great to see industry friends and new products at this event.
Sigler’s San Jose office hosted a great event covering VRF and the associated code changes coming in 2025. We were lucky to have Gina Rodda of Gabel Energy to speak on these upcoming changes.
