THE UPDATE
This week we got a new couch. It’s a fancy reclining couch from Costco. We’ve had our old one for more than a decade and it’s been past due. We’ve only had it for a few days and it’s already been great. This, of course, has lead to the Great Rearranging and now our board game nook has become our video game nook. It’s not all hooked up yet, but I suspect that will be next week’s project.
In other news, the public library hired someone else, so I remain staunchly unemployed.
EATING / COOKING / BAKING
Week before last, for my birthday, Britt made me a Piecaken, a cherry pie baked inside a yellow cake with a chocolate frosting. It was so good. Also, huge. We ate it all weekend but that wasn’t a bad thing.
I’m trying to remember exactly when we learned about Piecaken. As I recall, the first one we saw was a three layer special occasion thing with each layer a different pie and a different cake.
And, a cursory internet search turns up Piecaken Bakeshop! For those that don’t want to try their own hand at making one in their own kitchen.

WATCHING
I’m writing this a little later in the day because I got distracted. One of things that distracted me was watching Bill and Ted Face the Music on Hulu. I had heard it was good and I was not disappointed. I mean, it was extremely silly and amusing, but that feels par for the course for a Bill and Ted movie.
It did make me want to go back and watch the other Bill and Ted movies, so I’m going to call it a success.
