Lilycore News #1: let's mosey
more like Lily V-mail, heh heh

Heyo ~ this is Lily Valeen! Thanks so much for joining my newsletter. As the monolith of social media begins to fray, I'm trying to find new ways to keep in touch with people. Sometimes, those new ways are old ways...
This newsletter will mostly be about the video games I'm developing. I'd like to show off concept art, gameplay gifs, and various other sneak peeks. I'm always open to your feedback, so please feel free to reply to the newsletter if you have thoughts!! I may also toss in some recommendations for things I've been enjoying recently.
I have lots of newsbits today, so let's mosey!
Lilycore Game #2
"Wait", you say. "Haven't you released a bunch of stuff since BOSSGAME?" Yes... yes I have. You see, BOSSGAME was Lilycore Game #1. After that, there was Touhou: Lonely Lovely Bonfire was Game #1.3, and Bright Red Song of Love was Game #1.7. Thus, the next game will be Game #2 This will be the numbering system going forward. Thank you for understanding.
Anyway, Lilycore Game #2! This will be a much larger project, at least the size of BOSSGAME. I have a prototype I've been playtesting, and I'm currently building out a super-pre-alpha "vertical slice". It's not at a point where I can talk about the gameplay, but I can show off a bit of the style...
thank you Cyan and Cerulean for being my placeholders
Game #2 focuses on a group of women who must flirt and fight as a team. You'll choose two women to pair up and adventure together, with both bringing their unique personality to battles. If all goes well, maybe they'll start to trust each other... they'll slowly grow closer... and... and...
Well, I'm excited to show off more when it's ready!
New Lilycore Website!
I recently put up a new website, itsmelilyv.com. For folks who want to check out my blogs and illustrations, this is a single place to view it as a collection. There's a big art gallery already, plus I'm working on transferring my gamedev writing from Cohost, and adding a section of Links to friends' sites as well. It's got an RSS feed for people who dig that, too!
Creating a website is so much easier nowadays... I used this this handy layout builder to make a mobile-friendly site, and built the rest in Phoenix Code (which shows your site as you're building it). It was so easy, I'm tempted to make more & stranger sites in the future... give it a shot, if you're interested.
Recommendations: Women Trying Their Best
In the last week I've seen two anime films about women trying their best. Both struck me right in the heart, and I really recommend them if you wanna cry.
The first is Look Back, a story of two girls who start drawing together. It's based off a manga by Chainsaw Man's Tatsuki Fujimoto, and his grasp of human awkwardness and emotion is on full display. It's just super pretty, too.
The second is The Summer, a yuri film which topped the Korean indie film box office. It's a quiet story about two high school girls and their romance as they become adults and get jobs. The tone of the whole movie is understated in a really lovely way. I love yuri, and this is very good yuri.
Extremely unrelated, but I've also been listening to sushi's chiptune remixes recently! They're a lot of fun... Furnace Tracker is a wonderful thing.
That's all for now. I'll talk to you soon!
