Introducing Isocenter Watch
Isocenter Watch is a free changelog for diagnostic-imaging compliance. When a federal requirement, a state rule, or an accreditation criterion changes, you get a short note here: what changed, who's affected, and the date it takes effect. Every item is cited to its source. No product pitch.
One email when something actually changes — not on a fixed schedule. Unsubscribe from any of them.
On the clock
Breast density reporting is now a federal floor.
What changed — FDA's amendments to the Mammography Quality Standards Act establish a national minimum standard for reporting breast tissue density to patients and referring providers, replacing the prior patchwork of state-only requirements.
Who's affected — Every MQSA-certified mammography facility, and the physicists who support their QC program and reporting language.
Effective — Compliance required as of September 10, 2024.
Source — FDA, 21 CFR Part 900 (final rule, Federal Register, March 10, 2023).
MQSA · 21 CFR 900.12 · in effect
If your facility's lay summaries and provider reports were last revised before that date, this is the one to check first.
