Feel it in my bones

I didn't mean to spend the night.

I'm a creature of habit. I like my routines. I know my way around my bedroom in the dark.

But I also know what it's like to want you so badly, I can feel it in my bones. I know how it feels when desire is coursing through my veins. I know what it means to be invited upstairs. I follow you.

...

I fall asleep and wake up with my glasses still on. Cars driving by cast unfamiliar shadows on the ceiling. I hit my foot trying to find the bathroom.

I don't know how to do this. I wonder if I'm supposed to leave now. Tiptoe out the front door. Send a text in the morning.

Sometimes you meet someone that you want to spend the night with, and sometimes you meet someone that you want to wake up with the next morning. I've said this before.

I climb back into your bed. I commit the pattern of your breath to my memory. I learn what the heat of your body feels like against mine.

...

You ever meet someone who feels like a sigh of relief?
