Blood vessels in my neck

I’m so behind, and I have so much to say. But every day, I’m thankful that the world keeps spinning and life keeps moving forward, whether I write about it or not.

Driving home one night, a Tory Lanez song said something like “…loving you was the plan tonight”, and I stopped the car, and I smiled. Because loving Q wasn’t the plan that night. But it might be one night. And that’s enough for me.

Her place is all candles burning, healing crystals in perfect alignment, and sticky notes in books. It feels like a sanctuary. She feels like a sanctuary.

I like the way our legs intertwine on the couch. I like the soft twitches, the way she reaches out for me, the way she holds me tighter in her sleep.

My lips taste like hers. The smell of her hair lingers on my clothes.

I watch the busted blood vessels in my neck fade from deep red to purple to yellow - until I see her again.
