Welcome to Infidels Jazz, a small company dedicated to shining a spotlight on the incredible jazz scene in Vancouver, BC.
We have presented over 400 live events since 2021, put out almost 300 episodes of our Mixcloud show, and released 10 albums on our record label, but we haven't had a dedicated regular newsletter...
Until now.
Starting today, you will receive an email every Monday telling you about the Infidels Jazz events that are coming soon.
Let's get to it!
We have three big ticketed shows this week to draw your attention to:
Mat Maneri & Lucian Ban at Pyatt Hall
Violist Mat Maneri and pianist Lucian Ban just put out a brand new album on ECM Records and are touring North America supporting it. This is a rare opportunity to hear two masters at work, at the most beautifully sounding venue in town.
Big thanks to our pals at VSO School or music for their support on this one. Tickets on sale now.
Rocky Horror Music Show at the Fox Cabaret
The music of The Rocky Horror Picture Show has been delighting audiences for over 40 years, and Infidels Jazz is proud to present a very special concert featuring it this Saturday at the Fox Cabaret. Co-led by Jason Winikoff and Michael Coury, the Rocky Horror Music Show features 13 of this city's best musicians and singers, performing the entire soundtrack from this iconic film. Tickets are selling quickly.
Ron Samworth & Melissa Hubert: The Etiquette of Dying at VIFF Centre
Ron Samworth has been a cornerstone of Vancouver's creative music scene for over 30 years. This week Infidels Jazz is proud to release his brand-new album on our record label, as well as to present him at the VIFF Centre (1181 Seymour Street, Vancouver) on October 27, for a screening of his new project with Melissa Hubert, The Etiquette of Dying. In addition, Ron and Melissa will be performing with some of the best musicians from our local creative scene, including Peggy Lee, Elisa Thorn, and Jesus Caballero. Big thanks to our pals at the VIFF Centre for having us.
